The deadline to file your 2024 Personal tax return & to pay any taxes owing to CRA is April 30, 2025.
If you are a self-employed individual (sole proprietorship), you must file your tax return by June 16, 2025 (since June 15 falls on a weekend). However, any taxes owing to CRA must still be paid by April 30, 2025.
In order to avoid late penalty & interest from CRA, we suggest the following:
- Make sure to include all sources of income and ensure you have reported all tax slips
- Before filing, compare this year’s return with last year’s to identify any discrepancies
- File taxes and make tax payments before the deadline
If you’re missing tax slips or are unsure about your income sources, contact your employers or financial institutions for missing documents. If you’re uncertain about what needs to be reported, consult a tax professional for guidance.
